Give me a break!

Time to be honest. Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. is a professional racist. He has lived his adult life working to separate people of African heritage from the mainstream. He is described as a black scholar when in fact he, like some many of those preaching victimology, is simply a scholar of black.

If I get the news stories right, someone reported two black men breaking into a home. The police came out and found a door broken and a black man in the house. He was asked to identify himself and Professor Gates threw a hissy fit. It is really about his self-righteous indignation that the lowly police officer did not instantly recognize him as being a preeminent scholar at Harvard University. He is so used to fawning liberals kissing his black ass that the idea that a white cop didn't know him was just too much for that life-long chip on his shoulder.

Note for Professor Gates: Next time a cop tells you that there is a burglarly report and asks you for your identification, just show it to him. You might thank him for being so watchful over your property while your at it but we know that ain't gonna happen. Can you imagine the uproar if there were two burglars breaking into his home and the cops did nothing? Add the good professor to your jerk file.

Oh that darn Sarah Palin

The news pundits had a field day.  Some all but unknown woman, a governor in the mostly wasteland of snow state of Alaska, was picked by the Republicans to be their vice presidential candidate.  Oh joy, what on earth was John McCain thinking?  This is the disaster pick of not only this century but the last.

Oopps, looks like the wheels have fallen off the liberal media's wagon.  Governor Palin is a hit!  Big time!  Hussein is whining like the little bitch that he is.  He doesn't know what to do.  If he flaps his lips about her inexperience, he shows his own.  If he points out her faults, he exposes his own.  What oh what is a fellow to do?  Hussein cannot draw on his years of experience in leadership and management to help in handling this woman.  He has none.  He can't seem to think on his feet.  Every time he talks off-the-cuff he makes a fool of himself.  Just what the country needs, a presidential candidate that gets a backbone only when a teleprompter is shoved up his backside.

I believe but can't guarantee that Governor Palin will continue through the campaign brilliantly.  The liberal twit media will continue to assail her both professionally and personally.  Their comments should cement the bond between her and the voters.  Oh my, dare we say it?  Landslide with B. Hussein Obama buried under the rubble?

Gay Day

Oh goodie. The State of California wants to enact a "Gay Day" that must be celebrated annually by California school children. That has to be the most stupid idea I ever heard. It is also the most irresponsible and detrimental legislation affecting children ever put forward by a legislative body.

Making free speech that speaks out against the perversions of the queer lifestyle into a crime isn't bad enough? We not only can suffer the consequences of a "hate crime" if try to protect our children from immorality, we are now going to be asked to actively promote and support this destructive life style. I don't think so.

Here are some laws that I think need to be passed.

  • Eliminate any government support for AIDs suffers. They got sick because they practiced an immoral life style. They need to suffer the consequences. Further, the faster the die off the sooner we will be rid of the disease.
  • Eliminate the so-called "right" of queers to marry someone of the same sex. People need to support California Proposition 8 and remove the ability of liberal, activist judges from thwarting the will of the people.
  • Stop supporting the queer pride parades. I leave my city everytime they hold this disgusting exhibition. Bad enough we have to let them wander our streets but when elected officials 'proudly' ride in their queer parade it sends the wrong message to our children.

I know some are going to say I am homophobic. I don't fear queers. I don't even hate queers. As far as I am concerned, if they want to go to hell, let them continue in their immoral life style. I just don't want they taking our children (and grandchildren) with them. It is not okay to be queer.

Tire Gauge?

Okay, we have hammered Hussein enough. What he said about tire inflation is right. The problem is that we have heard about proper tire inflation and getting your car serviced for decades. It is nothing new or particularly informative.

If this guy wants to lead the free world, aka the United States of America, he needs to come up with more than what we have seen in television ads from Shell for the past 30 years. How about a real plan, in some detail, about how we produce more energy and how we get off the irreplaceable fossil fuels we currently use.

I don't want to hear about using electricity unless it is from a source that itself is not irreplaceable. If President Kennedy can say we are going to the moon in this decade, where is a similar statement from Hussein? Or is it all just so much hot air from a con-man on the hustle?

What change?

Senator Obama is the presumptive Democrat candidate for president. Oh joy. His mantra has been about change. He declares he is going to change the way the federal government does business. Okay, that sounds real good.

Now, how about some details?

The silence is deafening. Like any con artist he expects you to fill in the blanks. He wants you to imagine how you would change America to make it a better place. He offers the promise of change but is not telling anyone how HE would change the country. His voice is the one that needs to supply the "how" and not the poor, deluded souls yearning for something better.

I think from this point onward I shall dedicate myself to exposing the fraud from Senator B. Hussein Obama. Every time he opens his mouth I expect him to ask me which walnut shell is covering the pea. All I got to do is just put down another dollar and point to the shell and I could win untold riches.

Spike Lee is at it again

Noted racist Spike Lee is after Clint Eastwood. Spike, maker of racially imbalanced films, claims that Mr. Eastwood didn't have enough black folks in his epic series, Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.

The Letters from Iwo Jima covered combat on Iwo Jima during World War II from the Japanese perspective. I am not sure, but I don't believe there were many warriors of African descent in the Imperial Japanese Army. I can only assume that Spike does not feel "his people" were unjustly missing from that movie.

Flags of our Fathers covered the staged flag raising on Mount Suribachi and the landings and attendant combat. The original flag raising was not staged but the re-do for Time Magazine certainly was. Spike assails poor Mr. Eastwood that the contributions of African-Americans were not adequately portrayed on the big screen. Mr. Eastwood told Spike to go learn history and shut his pie hole. Spike babbled and frothed some more.

The dispute between the director Clint Eastwood and Spike has been going on for years. I will assume his contention is that you need to have black faces regardless of historical fact. Well Spike, here a just a couple of facts.

  1. African-Americans were barred from direct combat duties. Since most of the movie covers combat it would be difficult to see many black faces.
  2. Of the 110,000 American combatants, there were between 700-900 African Americans providing support duty. That is less than one tenth of one percent of all American troops were of African descent. The handful of shots showing black faces in the movie is about what a white guy or a Mexican guy or a Native American would have seen while they were getting their asses shot off.
I, for one, have had enough of Mr. Spike Lee. His racially biased movies depict an America that exists in his mind alone. None of his movies come close to showing racial balance. The fact that less than 1/10 of a percent of American troops on Iwo Jima were African-Americans is not the fault of Mr. Eastwood. The fact that so few African-American faces are not in his movie is just being historically accurate. Maybe Spike is not interested in reality. Well if Spike has a problem with reality, maybe he should make his own version of Iwo Jima that features the contributions of African-Americans. That would be fine with me. Any movie that accurately portrays the contributions of all Americans who fought to protect America serves to remind us all that freedom is not free. I just hope he can keep it accurate. No one is served by a dishonet view of history.

The Hell with the Charter

Long Beach is governed by a city charter; a document that spells out who does what. Now that city government has been taken over by a group of socialists, it appears that venerable document is experiencing an end run around its provisions. Why would the elected officials, sworn to uphold the charter, try to evade its very provisions? Good question.

The recent gang of five tried to alter the charter to give themselves more power. The people turned them back. Well if you can't get your way I guess you can just ignore the very document you tried to amend. Once again, why evade the charter? It looks to me it is for one purpose only: make the elected official look good so that they can have a better shot at higher office. It does no good to work on a council where you have no authority beyond that of the group. However, if you can be a cowboy and whip out your trusty six-shooter to slay the imaginary demons within your own district, you should be able to impress the voters. Or maybe there is the shake-down for campaign contributions from those within your district. If the monied interests want something to happen within your district, the movers and shakers know how to assist a cooperative councilperson to be more friendly.

The Mayor is yet another story and it speaks more of a lust for power than anything else. It must be tough to have been the president of a huge corporation where your word was pretty much law and have to settle for glad handing as the Mayor of Long Beach. Oh how annoying it must be for the current mayor when he sees the power wielded by other big city mayors. Too bad he hasn't noticed how truly screwed up those cities are just because they are run by politicians and not professionals. Well that is all for yet another blog entry.

Cheers

I Misspoke

Hillary misspoke? How do you misspeak about running across the tarmac under threat of hostile fire? I don't care how many times you get on or off of a plane, if you disembark only one time and run for your life to get away from the bad guys, you NEVER forget it. Likewise, if it never happened there is no clear and indelible recollection of those kinds of life events.

I hate to say it, but this looks like another case of John Kerryitis -- the fabrication of heroic events that are willfully created to cast yourself in the public eye as a truly special person. Kerry fabricated his own after action reports portraying himself as some kind of war god. Now Senator Clinton has proven once again how loose a grasp she has on reality.

This is going to be a very painful presidential campaign.

The New Nigerian Scam

From the folks that continue to debunk scams and urban legends, Snopes.com, a quote from their review of the Nigerian Scam.

"In a nutshell, the con works by blinding the victim with promises of an unimaginable fortune. Once the sucker is sufficiently glittery-eyed over the prospect of becoming fabulously rich, he is squeezed for however much money he has. This he parts with willingly, thinking "What's $5,000 here or $10,000 there when I'm going to end up with $2 million when this is all done?" He fails to realize during the sting that he's never going to get the promised fortune; all of this messing around is designed to part him from his money. "

The premise is getting something for nothing. The scam is applied any number of ways but always based on tall promises, an enhancement to your life, wealth, health, or whatever. The scam has been around since the early 1920's and keeps changing to try and stay one step ahead of their victims. That being said, I have the pleasure to reveal,

The Latest Nigerian Scam.

Getting your money's worth out of government

The government worker stereotype is of a spiritless worker either doing make work or laying around doing nothing. That isn't true but the image lingers. I had first hand experience this week with one of the real causes of malaise in the civil service ranks.

Everyone likes to believe if you work hard and bring more than just the minimum work then you will be rewarded with promotions and better pay. For the most part, that is actually what happens. Then we get to the dirty little secret in the civil service ranks. Those job bulletins are often no more than a end run around the laudable goals of hiring the most qualified person for a job. I have seen too many times the hiring authority give the so-called competitive opening to someone clearly not the best choice. A manager hired for a technology department who had never worked in information technology. A customer service manager hired into the same department with no experience in computers. An elections official hired without actually ever conducting an election or even worked as a deputy or a full-time assistant to an elections manager. The list goes on and on but you have to wonder what runs through the hiring authority's head.

It is bad enough to hire someone based not on their actual qualifications. What is happening to the employees who thought they had a competitive shot at the new job? How often must this preferential treatment in a supposedly open process occur before the rank and file employee starts to give up and just does the minimum needed to hold onto a job?

Government has a ton of managers but I don't see many leaders. I also do not see many veterans in leadership either. I wonder if there is a connection? I don't know but unless government at all levels starts to lead and inspire their workers, we the taxpayers are going to increasingly take it in the shorts.
